Pierre is a research assistant at Carnegie Mellon University Africa. He spends time reading and analyzing data from fintech space in Sub-Saharan Africa in order to develop financial strategy and in the next few months, he and the team
will use the data and build an LLM model to answer financial quesries in low resources language(Kinyarwanda).
Pierre has worked with researchers from different world class universities, Oxford University(UK), Carnegie Mellon University (USA), TU Ilmenau (Germany) and University of Witwatersrand (South Africa).
He is doing a master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (USA), where he focuses on data science and applied machine learning. During his academic endovors, he obtained skills in deep learning, computer vision,
geospatial data analytics and have worked on a number of projcets.
Before joining CMU, he spent time in the Internal Consulting Team at One Acre Fund where he contributed on several business strategy projects and how to use data and optimize agricultural space.
Pierre Holds a master’s degree in Mathematical Sciences from African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (Rwanda), where he concentrated in data science.
Pierre brings in rich experience in Machine Learnig, business strategies and data analytics. He enjoys measuring impacts of projects and setting strategies and studying the how satellite imagery can be used to make earth observation related decions.
My academic background spans Computer Engineering and Mathematical Science where I specialize in building models and data science.
I am a studet in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University where I concentrate on Data Science.
I also hold a Master's degree in Mathematical Sciences with a Major in Data Science and Statistics from African Institute for Mathematical Sciences
